I stumbled upon Forestbound while cruising one of my favorite daily blogs, Commerce with a Conscience. Lately I’ve been trying to lead a more eco-friendly life – shop second-hand, re-invent old clothes, not use any plastics etc. So when I decided that I needed a new tote bag, I knew it should be eco-consciously made. The bags by Forestbound certainly fit the bill. Alice Saunders, the creator of Forestbound and a resident of Jamaica Plain MA, uses only found and salvaged materials that she hunts all of New England for. Each piece is the result of ample amounts of time and care and completely one of a kind. Check out a video of Saunders and her workspace on Etsy and read an interview with her on Design Sponge.
