J.E.M. Home Design & Valentine’s Vectorfunk

I walked the couple blocks from my apartment to one of my favorite shops in Boston last night for a fun night of drinks and shopping. J.E.M Home Design, on Shawmut Ave. in the South End, opened its doors in 2009 and instantly received praise from the neighborhood and city of Boston. Owner and interior & furniture designer Jane Miller opened the shop after years of working in design, pr/marketing, and production. Jane has a distinct eye for rustic relics, salvaged materials, and sources the best independent designers to furnish her beautiful store. Jane, with the help of her lovely store manager Meggie Sullivan, also have a tendency to throw funky and fun events. Last night they celebrated Valentine’s day with Portland, ME artist Matt W. Moore whose colorful and graphic paintings meshed perfectly with Jane’s interior aesthetics. Friends and supporters mingled in the cozy space sipping mixed drinks made with jalapeño vodka and some delightful lemon infusion and jammed to DJ Colin Whatever. While taking photos of the space I might have been simultaneously making a wish list of everything I wanted in the store including a coyote vertebrae necklace and a lucite bench.

Next time you’re in the South End, don’t miss this charming store on the corning. Just look for the vibrant teal walls gleaming through the windows!
